We are currently hiring for a leading client of ours in Industrial Automation: Job Title: Controls Engineer – PLC Programmer Department: Controls Engineer – Testing & Commissioning Location: Hosur Job Description: Role Responsibilities: Understand the design and receive the PDRN file from the Controls Design department. Examine the PDRN file, ensure all required documents are received, and prepare a MOM (Minutes of Meeting). Prepare offline programs (PLC/HMI, etc.) and have them ready before Power ON. Conduct offline testing for PLC, HMI, Servo, Printer, Load Cell, LVDT, etc., and create a Special Device Testing document. Coordinate with SCADA, Robot, and Vision teams to provide tags for offline programming. Perform Power ON, IO checks, and safety validation, and document the results. Execute a dry run (Manual/Step/Auto Mode without customer components), ensuring Poka Yoke, Cycle Time, Data Logging, Traceability, and key customer deliverables are achieved 100%. Troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, servo, vision, robot, SCADA, and other control systems. Perform auto mode testing with components alongside the mechanical team. Prepare and share a pre-MQ1 checklist with the customer before their visit. Conduct MQ1 with the mechanical team and the customer, obtaining a signed-off MQ1 copy as per the timeline. Prepare and share RCA (Root Cause Analysis) reports and lesson-learned documents related to failures and repeated issues. Manage machine installation and commissioning at the site. Conduct MQ2 with the mechanical team and the customer, obtaining a signed-off MQ2 copy as per the timeline. Prepare the machine manual (including troubleshooting and HMI navigation) and submit it to the Controls Design Department. Handover the project to the After-Sales and Service Department after MQ2 sign-off. Provide team support and guidance. Relevant Experience: 2-4 years of experience in machine building and automation. Technical Knowledge: Experience in machine testing and commissioning in automation. Expertise in troubleshooting for Special Purpose Machines (SPM). Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, servo, vision, robot, SCADA, and other control systems. Understanding of electrical diagrams, product manuals, and machine manuals. Electrical controls design experience. Willingness to travel.
