Job Description:

Procurement Engineer Job Description We are seeking a Procurement Engineer to manage the purchasing process within our Supply Chain Management department. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably within the manufacturing industry. Key Responsibilities: Collaboration with Design Department: • Understand technical specifications and requirements for manufactured and bought-out components. RFQ Preparation and Distribution: • Prepare and distribute Request for Quotations (RFQs) to potential suppliers, ensuring uniformity in the information provided. Supplier Evaluation: • Evaluate supplier quotations based on scope of supply, product features, delivery terms, and payment conditions. Negotiation: • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best possible deals while maintaining professional integrity. Bid Comparison and Record Maintenance: • Create bid comparison tables and maintain records to facilitate supplier selection and procurement decisions. Purchase Order Management: • Issue Purchase Orders and manage advance payments as necessary. Supplier Performance Monitoring: • Monitor supplier performance to ensure timely delivery of materials and adherence to quality standards. Material Receipt Coordination: • Coordinate the receipt of materials, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with delivery schedules. Procurement Record Maintenance: • Maintain accurate procurement records to justify decisions and support auditing processes. Supplier Relationship Management: • Maintain the relationships with suppliers to enhance collaboration and identify opportunities for cost savings. Reporting: • Report on procurement activities, including budget versus actual performance, to the management team. Requirements: • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field is preferred; a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) is acceptable with relevant experience. • Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment. • Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal. • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, with strong analytical skills. • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with internal stakeholders and suppliers regularly. • Knowledge of industry standards and compliance requirements. • Familiarity with procurement regulations and ethical sourcing practices. Additional Skills (Preferred): • Financial acumen to assess total procurement costs. • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives.
